The transformation starts when we obey the voice of the Holy Spirit. He knows our community and the hearts of men. He knows the ones whose hearts are prepared, and the ones whose hearts are hard. We will do ourselves a disservice when we go without prayer, fasting and consultation.

“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.” Luke 10:1

 

Their feet would walk and touch the soil of these communities, making the way open for the Master to come in and do as the Father wanted. He told them, “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” The lesson in this is obedience, not many will run into the field to work, to rescue the souls of men. Jesus knew men’s hearts and saw their selfishness, He saw how men would care for their own business rather than His own. So He told them, as He is telling us today, “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into His harvest field.”

Community transformation, involves workers, you and me, masons, singers, bank clerks, waitresses, office workers,

electricians, farmers, teachers - we are all workers, identified by the Lord, to tell men of this glorious salvation into which He has baptized us. We become the witnesses, telling others of what Christ has done for us - we are the best examples, the ones who have already been impacted by the Gospel.
