Change your narrative, change your life. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words (for death or life).” What a great reminder to us, reminding us of the immense impact our words can have on our lives and on the lives of others. It is my heart felt desire that we improve our speech as we go into 2026.

The capacity of speech has been given to man for worship,

communication, creativity, entertainment, healing, love and so much more. Yet many have used their speech mainly to bring harm, destruction, negativity, discord and strife, instead of bringing joy, encouragement and positivity. Social media has created ‘a world’ for the dissemination of knowledge, but we must be very aware of the source of such knowledge and ask ourselves the question, “who is speaking into my ears and life?” What if Eve was more discerning and identified that it was the Father of Lies, who came to her with poisonous speech, in the Garden of Eden? What if she had magnified and committed to what God had already spoken into her life?

“There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.” We have all seen and experienced the damage of evil words, much like a spear that wounds on impact with our bodies, but there comes a time, which is now, where the call goes out for responsible speech, for wisdom to choose our words, to turn from evil and to do good, beginning with our tongues.
