MOTHER'S DAY

Today, we join with others around the globe to celebrate Mothers’ Day, and what a day it is!
Motherhood, as ordained by God, is indeed a high privilege. From conception to birthing, from childhood training to teenage molding and discipling, to young adulthood modelling and shaping, the process spans a lifetime.
Like Mary, the mother of Jesus, we have entered on a journey that carries joys and pains, laughter and sorrow, uncertainties, fears and failures, yet also great anticipation of the ultimate victory, a child fashioned for the Father’s glory.

Motherhood carries a great price, sacrificial love, self-denial, going the second to the hundredth mile and beyond, to please, to train, empower, love and cherish. It is a calling, to which one does not exit, it demands everything from the heart.
Many have stumbled into motherhood, maybe as a teenaged mother, many have put in timely plans and prepare themselves as best as they could, but motherhood comes with its own surprises!
Moms, nanas, you are still expected to be perfect, on time, smiling even in bad times, smelling and looking sweet and fresh; you are expected to be doctors, nurses, receptionists, transport managers, skilled narrators, cheerleaders, award-winning actresses, car pool specialists, peacemakers and advisors in all types of relationships, you are expected to wear your super— mother cape!
As best as we try, we could not have been mothers without the fathers, so even on Mother’s Day we are saluting the fathers who have caused us to be mothers. We appreciate you as well.
Today, mothers, we cheer you on in your labour of love, in your commitment , in your lows and in your highs, remain steadfast in your assignment of parenting. Heaven salutes you, receive it with love!
