THE BISHOP'S MESSAGE
GRATEFUL!
NOVEMBER 02, 2025

“The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent takes it by force!” Matt. 11:12
My beloved, I can think of no other Scripture to describe the past week.
Hurricane Melissa, has passed through Jamaica, leaving scenes of destruction in the Western part of our country, with both central and Eastern sections relatively unscathed. There are reports of loss of life, but certainly not on the scale of what was predicted by many.

How can we then not say thanks, for all that our Great, Benevolent God has done for us, “things so undeserved,” that He gave His Son to save us!
We are encouraged, by God’s Word, to remove our eyes from the things which are seen and temporal and to fix our gaze on the things which are unseen and eternal. It is so easy to look at our material possessions and think that we will have them always, but no. It is in times like these, that we enter ourselves on what truly matters, on the God who rules in the affairs of men.

So while some are rejoicing because they had minimal or no loss, some are crying and in deep chaos, because they have lost all. May God grant us the sensitivity and wisdom to speak appropriately to all our people at this time.
Let us extend a helping hand to those we know, and to those who we do not know. Let the light of Jesus Christ shine through us, that others may see and come to Him, who alone gives life, and gives it more abundantly.
